I get tired just thinking about going back to school with the kids after our Christmas vacation. I think our break was a little longer than normal due to the kids Christmas concert and some sickness.
I thought I'd get your thoughts on "how do you stay motivated" during these winter months, where school just seems to drag on, and on, and on.
One thing that has helped me is to attend the local homeschool conventions that will start happening. I find it motivates me to carry on and gets me excited about school again.
Another thing that you might find helpful is to attend some "mom" support groups usually offered through local homeschool groups. It's a great time for fellowship and to share our burdens with one another.
So if you want to participate and tell us how you stay motived. Make your post on your blog, paste your link into Mr. Linky and then sign/comment here.

Thank you for the great topic to share with others. I'm looking forward to reading how others stay motivated. BTW- we use TOG too! Awesome!
Great thoughts. After my boys go back to school in a week, it will be a challenge to figure out how to get through winter.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. The knitting loom is very easy to use. I also crochet, but am enjoying the loom more. I will be back!
Honestly, I find it easier to stay motivated in the winter than in the fall, which is glorious and golden and perfect for hiking, or during the spring, when my garden calls me. In the winter, we can light a fire, curl up with hot chocolate, and learn, learn, learn
We are following the schedule of a charter school that two of my daughters' friends attend. They take a four week break - so we're supposed to as well. However, my dear, sweet, ADD daughters piddled around and didn't finish their work in time. In fact, one of them still isn't done. We're hoping she will be by tomorrow. Blessings.
Thanks for the wonderful idea to read and share with others! What perfect timing too-coming down from the holidays! Love being in community on this topic!
Yes..it's SOOOO hard to stay motivated right now! My kids have another week of "vacation" and then back to the grind! I'm going to write a post about this and link it here!
Although I don't home school (yet), I stay motivated as a teacher by having mentors and going to workshops.
Hi Lisa,
I plan to write about this one day soon. I'll link back when I do.
